St Joseph's Flower & Pet Show 2010
Last week was our Flower and Pet Show. We had a great day and it was awesome to see the effort everyone put into making their flower creations and heaps of children brought their pets to school for us all to see. I have attached some photos to the blog. I hope you enjoy looking at them!

Flower and Pet Show
Hi there!
Our Flower and Pet Show is tomorrow starting at 11am with the creating of the Flower Show exhibits. Room 3 will be making a sand saucer and 2 other entries of their choice. Everyone will need to come to school with everything they will need to create their entries (a chopping board will be handy if you have a spare one). Parents... you are welcome to come in and give the children a helping hand!
On the blog you will find some examples of creations from 2008.

Week 2

Meditating is cool because we can lie down or sit up and talk to God.
We did the eagles and we drew them with writing pencil and then we coloured them in with crayon and then we scrunched them up and then dyed them. When we finished they looked good!
We had Athletics and some people did the relays and Gold House won the relays. It was a good day!

Week 1

Wow! We drew pictures of Mary MacKillop. We practiced athletics. Emillea's dad came and a woman came too and gave the bus people light up jackets that glow in the dark. Some other women came to give us rosary beads. The year 8's get to take them home. For athletics we ran and did group stuff. In week 2 on Wednesday it will be Athletics Day!

TERM 4
Kia Ora!
Welcome back to school for Term 4! It was great to see all the smiley faces in the classroom today and it sounds like everyone enjoyed the holidays!! Lots of happenings this term so keep your eye out for the notices. We have added a couple of new websites to our blog that the children use in the classroom and are encouraged to use at home. In the next 2 weeks we are doing athletics most afternoons to prepare for Athletics Day. The children don't need to bring clothes to change into but they can bring their sports shoes to put on at lunch time. Don't forget this term sun hats must be worn. The children can bring their sun hats to school and keep them in their desks.

Week 8
Wow, what a great week we had last week!
We are all really enjoying maths and drama. We are in the middle of organising group performances which inform Mrs Grub about personal hygiene. Also in drama we are enjoying the warm up games. They are really fun!
Last week was fun because we had Milo Cricket with Mr Pithey. The competition was cool. Mrs McMillan thought we were great batters. She was very impressed with our skills.
We are enjoying taking part in Just a Minute and also having can do and must do in reading.
Hopefully this week we might see some sun!

Weeks 3 and 4
Hola,
In last two weeks we have been testing some experiments. Our favourite experiment so far was called Oily Hubbub. We had lots of questions and would like to test out some of our ideas.
Last week the whole school went to Borough School to see The Emperor’s New Clothes. It was hilarious but at times a little loud.
We have also had a lot of fun during PMP doing folk dancing. We are really great at dancing the Jibidi.
This week is International Language Week and Library Week.

Hello there!
This term has been a busy term so far. We have already been back at school for two weeks. This week we had our school lip sync. The heats were on Monday afternoon and there were a lot of fantastic performances! 8 performances from the junior school went through to the finals on Thursday night. 3 children from our class got into the finals and they were Eimear, Brooke and Cameron. On Thursday we had some special visitors to our school. Japanese students from a high school in Japan came and shared parts of their culture with us. They sang us their school song and danced to a beautiful traditional dance. They came to our classroom and showed us how to use chop sticks and how to make an origami bird.
We hope you enjoy the photos.
Have a fabulous weekend!
